Newly elected second Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC ) for Greater Accra Region, Mr Ibrahim Jajah, has called on members of the party in the region to rise above personal interest and unite to sack the non-performing New Patriotic Party (NPP) led government from office.
Speaking to ghananewsonline.com after he was declared victorious as second regional Vice Chairman for the party, Chairman Jajah, as he is affectionately called, urged the party leadership and members to remain united ahead of the general polls in 2020.
He said: “What I am saying is that all of us must put our heads together to remove this government that does not mean well for Ghanaians. Power comes from God. If God says it is you, there is nothing any man can do about it.”
The new regional Vice Chairman assured that, he would fulfill his campaign promises to work to ensure that the party reclaim the lost seven seats and win more to consolidate the party strength in the region.
“What we need to do now as a party is to work hard, we must wake up from our slumber and unite to remove the NPP, from office,” he stated
In his view it was not sufficient for them to remain indifferent hoping that the people’s will shall be done without working hard for victory, adding, “We have to step up our campaigns and set up political strategies to properly sell our message in the region. When you win Accra, you win the national elections.
Mr Jajah said, the 2020 presidential election is not going to be a tea party, but a political war as the expectations of Ghanaians are very high and the NDC cannot afford to fail them this time around.
He said Ghanaians have suffered enough in the hands of nonperforming government of the NPP who have no direction in correcting the massive economic injustice, security lapses in the nation.
While urging the party members to forgo the difference before and during regional conference and unite, the NDC new Regional Vice Chairman thanked his supporters and all the delegates for endorsing him,
“I want to take this opportunity to thank my campaign team, supporters and the delegates who listened to my message and voted for me. We are one family and I can only say lets let off our difference and come together so we can remove the NPP in 2020,” he reiterated .
